Hampton: A Happening Town with History

August 22, 2022

Hampton's history goes way back - even just walking through the town square will bring you to several heritage buildings and homes. But there's also so much more to this historic town than meets the eye.

Local Instagrammers and photographers, Scott (@sjxposed) and Curt (@the_curt.b) recently spent some time exploring just some of the highlights of this happening part of our region. Read on to learn more about their visit:

Town Highlights:

Scott and Curt began their Hampton adventures with iced coffees at Station 33, a local café and yoga studio. Station 33 offers locally roasted coffee, homemade baked goods & food with a focus on local ingredients, sustainability, community and wellness. Anyone looking to satisfy a caffeine craving or sweet tooth is sure to find a new favourite treat at this café located in the heart of the town.

After coffee, the two continued through town to check out the Visitor Information Centre in the old train station followed by a walk through Spooner Island. With a variety of trails throughout the town, Hampton is easy to discover on-foot, with almost every attraction within walking distance.

For lunch, Scott and Curt decided to head to Kredls Corner Market. Ask any town resident - Kredls is the heart and soul of this town.

Did you know: Kredls works with more than 150 local farmers and vendors to supply their fresh foods! What a great way to #SupportLocal.

With their hunger satisfied by the great food offered at Kredls' cookhouse, and now in search of the perfect way to spend their afternoon, the two headed to the Lighthouse River Centre for a quick dip in the Kennebecasis river.

Osprey Adventures:

A trip to Hampton isn't complete without checking out one of the town's business treasures, Osprey Adventures. Located at the Lighthouse River Centre, Osprey Adventures gives you the opportunity to paddle your way through the Kennebecasis tidal river system, immerse yourself in its freshwater marsh, and experience an abundance of wildlife. Whether you're kayaking, canoeing, or paddle boarding, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Even as beginners, Scott and Curt had a blast!

First time paddler? No worries! Osprey Adventures goes over basic techniques and etiquettes to ensure all paddlers are comfortable out on the water.

Belding Hill Farms:

After their river adventures, Scott and Curt made their way to Belding Hill Farms for an official tour of this homestead farm. Being able to meet cows, donkeys, chicks, and the resident sheep, Tiny, was certainly a highlight for the animal-loving duo.

Belding Hill Farms is a perfect family-friendly spot to make part of your Hampton trip. Plan your visit, meet the farm team and their animals, and create lasting family memories.

Bunkie on the Bay:

After a full day of adventure, Scott and Curt made their way to Bunkie on the Bay, a campsite and cottage located just a short drive out of Hampton in Long Point. Bunkie on the Bay is a gorgeous waterfront property on its own private beach. Fully equipped with everything you may need, this property lets you experience summer at its best on the Belleisle Bay.

Hampton truly is one happening spot, with even more to explore than captured above. From unique sculptures, to popular fishing spots, to cultural tours, and a variety of unique food and drink options, there is adventure waiting to be found.

Consider adding these local highlights to your next bay-cation itinerary - Hampton won't disappoint!
