Innkeepers Carl Trickey and Jim Crooks know about the importance of creating an atmosphere that reflects the peace and contentment they experience every day. For more than a decade, they’ve been sharing their home with guests who appreciate not only the distinct architecture and elegance of the 100-year-old building that houses their bed and breakfast but also the harmony and abundance of two lives well lived.
“We see Mahogany Manor as one of the centerpieces in the renaissance that’s taking place in the uptown area,” Carl says. “Saint John is on the upswing economically and, as a result, is opening up to new ideas and cultural influences from all over the world. It’s important to us that our guests experience that.”
Located on Germain Street, a quiet tree-lined street in the heart of the uptown area, Mahogany Manor features five spacious guest rooms with private bath. The rooms and common areas reflect the elegance of a bygone era including fine woodwork, ornate carvings, stained-glass and antiques. The breakfasts are superb, with excellent use of local products and produce to create hearty, healthy beginnings that will stimulate your senses.
