The National Youth Orchestra of Canada (NYO Canada) embarks this summer on its 2023 Aurora Tour with stops in Ontario, Québec, and a return to the East Coast after six long years. Join us as 83 of today’s brightest young classical musicians take to the stage under the baton of world-renowned conductor, Maestro Sascha Goetzel.
NYO Canada will perform works by Canadian composer Kati Agócs, “Shenanigan”, and JUNO-award-winning Canadian composer Jocelyn Morlock, “My Name is Amanda Todd”. Audiences will also enjoy beloved classical masterpieces, including Mussorgsky/Ravel’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” and a performance by the 2023 Michael Measures first prize winner as the featured soloist.
Tickets: Pay What You Can — NYO Canada’s new pricing model allows everyone to select a ticket price that works for them and to pay what you can (PWYC) to come and experience great music.
For 63 years, NYO Canada has been regarded as one of the best training orchestras in North America. Consisting of Canada’s finest pre-professional musicians, NYO’s legacy can be heard through the impact of their alums, who comprise a third of professional musicians playing in Canadian orchestras today!
