Saint John, NB August 10, 2018: Discover Saint John is thrilled to reveal Salmon Run 2018 - their popular public art initiative –which will be installed throughout the uptown today.
“Our 2017 Canada 150 Salmon Run installation was loved by locals and visitors to the city helping to bolster our vibrant uptown core with the unexpected,” says Victoria Clarke, Executive Director of Discover Saint John. “Having the opportunity to let ten New Brunswick artists interpret the region through this installation has been amazing. We encourage everyone to visit each sculpture and share their images using #SalmonRun2018.”
Thirty-four submissions were received, and evaluated by a jury, to paint or adorn one of the 2018 sculptures. The casts of Atlantic salmon were created by New Brunswick artist John Morgan to produce an urban kaleidoscope of salmon sculptures standing more than six feet tall when mounted.
