The “what, where, when and why” factors of the 2014 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship, presented by Booster Juice, have already been determined. The only question yet to be resolved is exactly who will be there, March 15-23, in Saint John, N.B.
Twelve of the best teams in the women’s game will compete for the world title during nine days of exciting action at Harbour Station. The athletes wearing Team Canada’s maple leaf will be the championship team from the 2014 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Feb. 1-9 in Montreal.
The other 11 countries that will be represented at the Ford World Women’s Curling Championship include South Korea, China, United States, Czech Republic, Denmark, Latvia, Russia, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland and Germany.
“All the countries have until Feb. 7 to declare their representatives, so we’re a month away from knowing just who will be out there on the ice in Harbour Station in March,” said Host Chair Jeff Lacey. “But it’s a pretty good bet that a number of them will be fresh off February’s competition in Sochi.”
The complete draw schedule for the Ford World Women’s Curling Championship is available online at curling.ca/2014worlds.
Every same-day event pass to the curling also includes admission to the Patch – situated in the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre, just a short walk down the pedway linked to Harbour Station.
The Patch is home to the non-stop party, with a wide range of food and beverages and a daily lineup of live entertainment. Fans can also meet the athletes there during Team Autograph sessions and Up Close and Personal interviews.
The Full Flex ticket package, offering the most significant value, is still available. Fans can purchase and redeem vouchers until Feb. 21. Three other packages are also available and single draw tickets priced from $23.50 go on sale Feb. 24.
Tickets to the 2014 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship can be purchased online at curling.ca/tickets or by phone at 1-800-267-2800.
