Saint John, NB June 30 2015 – The Discover Saint John board is thrilled to introduce Victoria Clarke as the new Executive Director of Discover Saint John, the destination marketing organization for the Saint John region. Victoria‘s new position will officially commence July 6, 2015.
A well-known figure in the Saint John community, Victoria is a recognized expert in fundraising and revenue development with proven results. Her most recent positions include Associate Director of Revenue Development at the Canadian Cancer Society of New Brunswick and the acting CEO of the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation where she honed her skills in strategic planning, stakeholder and government relations, sales, marketing and communications.
Her passion for the hospitality industry goes back to her youth when she worked at the prestigious Chateau Lake Louise in Banff National Park greeting guests from all over the world while being trained in the best customer service.
Since moving to the city 17 years ago, Victoria has developed a “love affair with the city” which she shared with her radio listeners during her two-year stint on the airwaves. An active volunteer, she is presently an entrepreneur’s forum advisor for the Wallace McCain Institute, was on the national cabinet for the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, and was a campaign sector chair for the United Way to name a few.
Victoria graduated from Dalhousie University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts, Philosophy. She lives in Rothesay, NB with her husband and her two children who are practically twins (they are the same age for one month every year!). She keeps her high-tech expertise a secret to most but next time you see Victoria you can thank her for getting us safely through Y2K.
