12 Places to take selfies in Saint John

September 10, 2015

When you’re documenting your travels these days, selfies are a must. Otherwise it didn’t happen, right?

Lucky for you, Saint John has countless selfie destinations for your enjoyment.

With the help of some of our celebrity friends (and a cute cat), here are some great places to snap your mug in the city.

THE LOYALIST MAN

Located by the Reversing Rapids (where you must go), Loyalist Man stands guard. He loves visitors.

THE MARKET SQUARE MOOSE (AFTER YOU GRAB YOUR BOTTLE OF MOOSEHEAD ON THE BOARDWALK)

It won’t get more New Brunswick than this.

JOHN HOOPER SCULPTURE BY BARBOUR’S GENERAL STORE

John Hooper may not have designed this piece with selfies in mind, but he did create his work for people to interact with. With a variety of characters and angles to choose from, this is a versatile place to take selfies.

SAMUEL DE CHAMPLAIN IN QUEEN SQUARE

This very dapper man discovered us (the guy on the statue, NOT Donald Trump)!

Pay him a visit.

THE LOYALIST BURIAL GROUND

If you’re lucky, a ghost won’t photobomb you.

THE BEAVER FOUNTAIN IN THE LOYALIST BURIAL GROUND

If you’re from the United States, one of your friends back home is going to ask you if you saw a beaver, or if you brought one home for them.

A selfie here will answer both questions.

THIS THING IN THE TRADE AND CONVENTION CENTRE

What is it? We don’t know. But it looks cool, so why not?

THE LA TOURS ON THE HARBOUR PASSAGE

If you don’t know who they are, you probably should.

Hard. Core.

THIS PORPOISE ON THE HARBOUR PASSAGE

When walking the Harbour Passage, you will come across three interpretative eco-hubs where you can learn about all the plants and animals that call the harbour home.

At the first one, you will encounter this porpoise. Snap accordingly.

THE FANCY CLOCK ON THE BOTTOM ON KING STREET.

Donated by John Irving, it is pretty darn fancy. It’s also pretty darn cool to take a selfie with.

THE WHALES AT THE NEW BRUNSWICK MUSEUM

You need to be seen with these whales.

THE “FAMOUS FOLKS” MURAL ON CANTERBURY STREET.

Snap your picture with the likes of Donald Sutherland, Stompin’ Tom Connors and others.

These guys are so famous even Ron Burgundy wants to be seen with them.

Happy Snapping!
