Visit the Saint John Jewish Historical Museum

The only one of its kind in the Atlantic Provinces, the Saint John Jewish Historical Museum was created in 1986 to preserve the history of the Jewish community of Saint John. The museum includes six galleries, archives, and a library. Tours are available.

The museum will be open from June to November, 2023. Regular hours will be from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm from Monday and Friday, additionally the doors will be open on Sunday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00 pm during July and August. 

Appointments available for group tours. Admission fee of $5.00/person or $10.00/family.

Land acknowledgement

The Saint John Region is situated on the traditional and unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik, Mi’Kmaq, and Peskotomuhkati Nations. This territory is covered by Peace and Friendship Treaties signed with the British Crown in the 1700s. The treaties did not surrender the territory and resources, but recognized Wolastoqiyik, Mi’Kmaq, and Peskotomuhkati title, and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.
