Spend your morning at the New Brunswick Museum, where whale sighting are guaranteed in the Hall of Great Whales. Visit Delilah, a full-size replica of a right whale then head to the Discovery Gallery, where you can explore New Brunswick through mini displays, touch objects, educational crafts, wall visuals, games and much more. Fun for kids of all ages!
Grab lunch at the Saint John City Market, Canada’s oldest continuous farmer’s market. With numerous vendors and cuisines available, there’s sure to be something for even your pickier eaters!
Plan to spend your afternoon at Rockwood Park, enjoying the outdoors. Go for a swim, horseback riding, explore the zoo or visit the playground. With more than 50 km of hiking trails to explore, the park is a four-season adventure zone! In the summer enjoy rock climbing, kayaking, biking and more, and in the winter enjoy sleigh rides, cross country skiing and skating. Inside Out Nature Centre offers numerous equipment rentals for all of these activities and more!
Or dive into the Canada Games Aquatic Centre. Built to accommodate the 1985 Canada Summer Games, the centre offers an Olympic-sized indoor pool, two leisure pools, two water slides, diving platforms and springboards, a toddler pool, a sauna and more. Public swims are offered daily, making any day a pool day!
Grab dinner on the Market Square Boardwalk and stay to enjoy some great, family friendly entertainment, offered every evening throughout the summer season. Or on Tuesday evenings be sure to check out movies in the park, a great way to enjoy some of the season’s best family films together under the stars with your camp chairs and cooler.
Head to the Irving Nature Park to explore the Children’s Forest featuring two cedar mazes, a playground and a picnic area, not to mention the numerous trails and beaches to be explored throughout the rest of the park. A great place for your avid rock collectors.
Take some time to explore the Cherry Brook Zoo, the first accredited zoo in Atlantic Canada. Nestled in a woodland setting located just minutes from uptown, visitors can see as many as 35 species of endangered animals.
Play a round of miniature golf, suit up for a game of laser tag or bowl a perfect game! Great activities to encourage some friendly competition and work up an appetite!
